Avacado And Cottage Cheese Spread

My daughter Aanya is a happy eater. Even while she was eating baby food, the only thing she made a gross face at was raw Avacado. My husband has a high cholestrol, so considering the medicinal value of Avacados I was keen on giving her avacados for food. I made an Avacado spread with some leftover cottage cheese and she has loved it ever since. If your little one doesn't like Avacado try this out, maybe it will work.

1 small Avacado
3-4 tsp Cottage Cheese
1tsp Cream cheese (optional)
Basil/parsley/Cilantro/Oregano (I just like to add herbs to my food. Adds a little bit of flavor to the food. You can use dried herbs if you want)
Salt
Pepper

Mash the Avacado and Cottage Cheese together. Add the Cream cheese or a little bit of any other shredded cheese or spread if your child likes cheese. Add the salt, pepper and the herbs. I add a pinch of nutmeg to it. being in the northwest the weather is always cold so it fights against the cold.

I used to give her the spread alone when she was eating baby food. Now I spread it on toast or crackers.

Welcome to my blog

I have recently started enjoying blogging. I may not be the best writer but it's fun. This is my second blog. When I started my first blog Miles to Go Before I Sleep , it was about sharing my thoughts and incidents in life. I didn't do pretty well in that I guess. But I revived that blog and started a new one so this time I'll take it more seriously for sure.

My little girl just turned one and she is ready to explore the world. Food is part of her exploration. Gone past are the days of bland baby food, she wants spice in her life now.
I love it when I cook something for her and she takes One bite and says YUMMMMM!
Everyday I make a constant effort to scratch my head and give her something different.

I am not a gourmet cook. I stayed away from home as soon as In entered the age where I could learn cooking from my mom. Whatever I make is just my past experiences and some good advice from people. Some recipes are inspired by other blogs, I will include the original recipe for you wherever I can. In this blog I want to share my ideas of how to cook quick, easy and healthy meal for family. All my concentration is around my 1 year old these days so obviously most of these recipes would be toddler friendly. Once in a while I will post something that will selfishly satisfy the grown-ups palate too.

Nobody might ever find this blog but that is fine too. I will just enjoy blogging and it will help kep me motivated to try out new things for the family.

Hope you enjoy this blog and maybe try out a recipe or two.
